#TeamKarma is back and Bricknell is looking solid.

Wolverhampton’s Clayton Bricknell returns to the ring on 23rd February where at Aston Villa Park Holte Suite he’ll make his 3rd professional appearance.

Preparations appear to be going well. Bricknell shared a few training and workout videos via facebook which show him busting some serious drills clearly geared towards ensuring that the Wolverhampton prospect not only maintains his unbeaten record but also puts out a good, no not just good, great boxing display.

‘Karma,’ as he’s also known, made his debut at lightweight grinding out a points win over Stockport’s Jamie Quinn. It was a performance that will have satisfied the camp. He was solid throughout the four rounds, showed nice balance and movement and chose to employ an eye-catching range of shots to both head and body which his opponent will have respected.

In some of their general movement both boxers were quite similar in style. Quinn though, without throwing shed loads of leather, took control of the centre of the ring more regularly. Bricknell wasn’t put out by this though and danced around his opponent, skipping in and out of range and challenging for the ring control whenever the opportunity arose. And whereas Quinn’s most effective work sat behind a swift left jab, Bricknell’s variations; hooks to the body and body to head combinations, were the standout features of his technique and this plus his punching accuracy was what will have notched up the necessary points as far of his subsequent victory was most concerned.

Bricknell returned to Villa Park for his 2nd fight which saw him beat the hard boiled 36 year old Essex boxer, Dylan Draper. This bout was at super lightweight and perhaps indicative of where Bricknell’s ideal fight weight may lie as on this occasion the margin of victory was wider, at 40 – 36, than the previous 40 – 37 scorecard scribed by referee Shaun Messer at the conclusion of the Quinn fight.

So with two very respectable points wins under his belt, Bricknell and his dedicated team will be looking for much of the same if not more when he returns to Villa Park to make it a hat trick of appearances and wins (we hope of course) later this month.
